Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 23, 2026
For the plain-English version of how we protect your scripts — including our no-AI-training commitment — see Script Security.
1. Introduction
ScriptDen ("we", "us", "our") provides a web-based screenplay analysis tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use ScriptDen, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using ScriptDen you agree to the practices described here.
2. Our core commitments
- We never use your scripts to train AI models — ours, or any third party's.
- We never sell your personal information or script content.
- Only you can read your scripts — enforced at the database level by row-level access policies.
- Delete is permanent — when you delete a script, it is removed immediately.
3. Information we collect
- Account information — your email address and (optionally) display name, provided via email/password signup or Google sign-in.
- Script content — the screenplays you upload (PDF or text) and the parsed scenes / characters / dialogue extracted from them. Stored privately in your account.
- Usage data — basic logs such as which scripts you opened and when, used to operate and improve the service. We do not log the contents of your scripts.
- Payment data — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We store only a customer reference and subscription status. We never see or store your card details.
4. How analysis works
All analysis currently runs in your browser. Scene timeline, character graph, dialogue vs action, sentiment, locations, and storyboard are computed locally on your device. Your script text is not sent to any AI provider for these features.
When we introduce AI-powered features in the future (such as logline generation or rewrite suggestions), they will be:
- Opt-in per script — off by default; you enable AI features for a specific script.
- Snippet-scoped — we send the minimum text needed for the feature, not the whole script.
- Routed under zero-retention terms — through the Lovable AI Gateway to providers such as Google Gemini or OpenAI, who do not retain or train on content sent via this API.
5. How we use your information
- Provide and operate the analysis features.
- Maintain your account, authenticate sessions, and remember your preferences.
- Process subscriptions, handle billing, and prevent fraud.
- Communicate service-related notices (e.g. password resets, billing receipts).
6. Storage and security
Data is stored on our managed backend (Lovable Cloud, powered by Supabase) with row-level access control so that only you can access your own scripts and account data. All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
7. Third parties we share data with
- Stripe — payments and subscription management.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google (OAuth).
- AI providers (when AI features are enabled) — Google and OpenAI, accessed via the Lovable AI Gateway under zero-retention terms. They do not use your content to train their models.
We do not sell your personal information or your script content.
8. Your rights and controls
You can delete any individual script from its detail page, or wipe all your scripts from the Billing page. To delete your account entirely, contact us. Depending on your region (e.g. EEA/UK, California) you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including access, portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
9. Data retention
We retain your account and scripts for as long as your account is active. Deleting a script removes it immediately. Deleting your account removes your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited records (e.g. billing) by law.
10. Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and local storage entries to keep you signed in and to remember your theme preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
11. Children
ScriptDen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use of ScriptDen after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
